The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced this Friday (1st) Arthur Elias as the new coach of the Brazilian Women’s National Team. At the event held in the auditorium of the entity’s headquarters, the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, also presented the former player Rosana in the position of coach of the Under-20 Selection. Simone Jatobá, coach of the Under-15 and 17 teams, also participated in the presentation.
Coach Arthur Elias spoke about his new professional stage and said he wants to raise the national team to a level of protagonism in world football. The first challenge will be the Paris Olympics in 2024.
“I am sure that we will be able to change the reality of women’s football in Brazil in a short time. My mission is to bring results in the short term, in the Olympic Games. The Brazilian team needs to be a world protagonist again, that is our objective”, said Arthur Elias.

Who is Arthur Elias?
At 42, Arthur Elias is one of the most iconic names in Brazilian football. His passion for the sport started early, starting his career as a coach at the age of 24. In 2013, under his command, the Olympic Center reached its first achievement, marking the beginning of a series of triumphs in his career.
During his time at the head of Corinthians, the coach accumulated great titles. He won the Brasileirão Feminino on four occasions, in 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022, establishing himself as the most successful coach in the history of the competition. In addition, he won the second Women’s Libertadores championship and also lifted the Paulistão trophy on four occasions.
“I want to take the opportunity to congratulate Corinthians on its anniversary (the club turned 113 this Friday) and its fans and thank President Duilio for all the support, Cris (Gambaré), our director, and all the players and professionals who worked with me on this arduous journey for me to reach this moment feeling prepared for this new mission.”
The coach said he will leave Corinthians shortly after the Libertadores, which ends on October 21, in Colombia.
Rosana Augusto
Rosana Augusto is one of the biggest names in women’s football. The former Canarinho player was champion of the 2007 Pan American Games and reached second place in the 2007 world championship. As a coach, she is the current champion of the Women’s Brasileirão A2 with Red Bull Bragantino.
“I’m very happy. President Ednaldo trusted me. I was Arthur’s athlete, I played with Jatobá for many years. The Under-20 team is an intermediary and I will be the link between the two teams, the Main and the Under-17. It is very gratifying to return to the national team after having defended this shield with so much affection. It is an honor to be able to join this new generation and this new commission”, said Rosana, silver medalist at the Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008) Games. and gold at the Pan American Games in Rio (2007).
