On Sunday, September 1, Sport Club Corinthians Paulista celebrates its 114 years of existence. Since its founding in 1910 in the Bom Retiro neighborhood of São Paulo by a group of workers, Timão has continued to write its history with pages marked by victories, prestigious titles, and the unwavering support of Fiel, its passionate supporters.
Inspired by the Corinthian-Casuals Football Club, an English team touring Brazil, the club was created by Anselmo Corrêa, Antônio Pereira, Carlos Silva, Joaquim Ambrósio, and Raphael Perrone. From the very beginning, Corinthians established itself as a powerhouse in Brazilian football, winning its first title as early as 1914 with the Paulista championship, after an unbeaten campaign.

An impressive men’s record
The men’s team of Corinthians has become one of the most decorated in Brazil over time. With 30 Paulista championship titles, the alvinegro club holds the record for victories in this competition. On the national scene, Timão has been crowned Brazilian champion seven times, won three Copa do Brasil titles, and even conquered Série B in 2008, confirming its ability to bounce back.
Internationally, Corinthians made a mark by becoming double world champion in 2000 and 2012. The victory in the Copa Libertadores in 2012, followed by the Recopa Sudamericana in 2013, remains one of the most memorable moments in the club’s history, symbolizing its rise to the top of South American football.
Les Brabas, pride of women’s football
The club’s success is not limited to its men’s team. Since the reactivation of the women’s team in 2016, Les Brabas have dominated Brazilian and continental women’s football. With four Copa Libertadores titles, one Copa do Brasil, five Brazilian championships, three Supercopa do Brasil titles, and four Paulista championships, the women’s team of Corinthians continues to collect trophies.
This season, Les Brabas are in pursuit of a sixth Brazilian championship title and aim for another victory in the Women’s Libertadores, thus confirming the strength and winning tradition of the club.
More than just a club, Corinthians represents a true culture, an unbreakable bond with its supporters, and a history of struggle and triumph. As it celebrates its 114 years, Timão continues to look toward the future, driven by its rich tradition and the hope of new achievements.
The celebration continues for Fiel, proud to support one of the greatest clubs in Brazil and the world.
