The final of the Women’s Brasileirão is set. This Saturday (2nd), Corinthians prevailed over Santos by 2-0 and will face Ferroviária, which eliminated São Paulo on penalties by 3-1.

The definition of the champion team will be for the 7th and 10th of September. The matches will start at 4:20 pm (Brasília time) and 4 pm (Brasília time) respectively.

Corinthians v Santos

Corinthians entered the field at Parque São Jorge, in São Paulo, with a difference in their favor of three goals on the scoreboard. But the advantage did not make the difference for Brabas, who beat Sereias da Vila by 2-0 and are in the final in search of the fifth title of the Women’s Brasileirão. Timão has been a championship finalist since 2017 and could be crowned champion for the fourth year in a row.

Arthur Elias’ women opened the scoring with Duda Sampaio, from the penalty spot, in the 18th minute of the second half. With the classic script of a penalty – ball to one side and goalkeeper to the other -, the number 27 scored for the team.

In the 43rd minute, Fernandinha sealed the vacancy for Corinthians. She took advantage of Ju Ferreira’s cross and set the 5-0 on aggregate for her team.

Ferroviária v São Paulo

The match between São Paulo and Ferroviária stirred the hearts of fans. After winning 3-1 in the first leg, Guerreiras Grenás had Fonte Luminosa, in Araraquara, as a positive factor to win a place in the decision. The Soberanas had other plans and took the definition to penalties, with a 2-0 victory.

Still in the first half, São Paulo equaled the aggregate score. At the 36th minute, Ariel received a cross from Micaelly and anticipated the Ferroviária defense to start the team’s reaction. At 42 minutes, Micaelly, who had assisted the first goal, took a free kick into the area, but the ball was not deflected and went into the back of the net.

In the final stage, there were no changes in the scoreboard, and penalties became the path to the final of the Women’s Brasileirão. Luciana’s star, Ferroviária’s goalkeeper, shone. She defended two kicks and secured the Guerreiras Grenás in the decision, with the 3 to 1 on penalties. Ferroviária is aiming for the third title of the competition and has not played in the final since 2019, when they were champions for the second time – the first achievement took place in 2014.
