The 2024 Copa América is already in the past, but the continental competition continues at the club level. Two days after Argentina’s new triumph, it is now the turn of the Copa Sudamericana with eight playoff matches in search of a place in the round of 16.

The matches begin today in Chile starting at 7pm (Brasilia time) with the local Huachipato against Racing (Uruguay). Two and a half hours later, one of the most attractive ties will start: Rosario Central (Argentina) will host Inter.

The Porto Alegre team arrives at the match at the Gigante de Arroyito stadium in the worst way. Eduardo ‘Chacho’ Coudet ceased to be the coach last week after the elimination against Juventude in the Copa do Brasil.

In the Brasileirão, the Gaucho team has a campaign with more shadows than lights. They are in 12th place, with 5 wins in thirteen games and a streak of four games without a win.

The good news for Inter is the return of Uruguayan goalkeeper Sergio Rochet after finishing third in the Copa América played in the United States. However, Colombian striker Rafael Santos Borré could not return after participating in the final, and Ecuadorian Enner Valencia will also not be available due to a muscle injury.

The matches in this phase of the continental tournament will have three other Brazilian teams: Barcelona (Ecuador) will host Red Bull Bragantino tomorrow, Palestino (Chile) will host Cuiabá and Cerro Porteño (Paraguay) will host Athletico Paranaense. All return matches will be next week.
