Story of the meeting
Before kick-off, despite the problems reported on social networks, Flamengo supporters created an electric atmosphere, with a visual spectacle highlighting the great icons of the club. Despite their status as a visiting team, São Paulo quickly took charge by creating the best chances early in the match. Wellington Rato and Jonathan Calleri appeared threatening even before the first 15 minutes.
Flamengo slowly but surely started to be more dangerous as the match progressed. In the 34th minute, a quick counterattack initiated by Gerson almost allowed Bruno Henrique to find the net. However, in the 44th minute it was São Paulo who broke the balance. Caio Paulista delivered a valuable ball to Rodrigo Nestor on the left wing, who crossed perfectly to allow Calleri to score with a header.

With the entry of Everton Ribeiro in the second half, Flamengo showed another side of their game and tried to get back into the match. However, São Paulo, solid in defense, managed to maintain its advantage by controlling the pace of the game.
At the end of the match, the frustration of Flamengo supporters was expressed through boos and criticism towards certain players, notably Gabigol, as well as the club’s vice-president, Marcos Braz.
With this victory, São Paulo has therefore taken a serious option.
