In the Copa América 2024 quarterfinals and semifinals, matches that end in a draw will be decided by penalties. Therefore, there will be no extra time.

Only in the final extra time will come into play, with two 15-minute periods. If the tie persists after those additional 30 minutes, the winner will be decided by a penalty shootout.

Therefore, if Brazil and Uruguay draw in Las Vegas (Saturday, July 6), the spot in the semifinals will be decided directly by penalties, without going through extra time.
