Santa Clara made a grand debut upon their return to the top division of Portuguese football. Last Sunday (11), playing away, the Azoreans, as they are known, came from behind to defeat Estoril 4-1, thanks to Brazilian striker Alisson Safira, who scored a penalty and provided an assist, being considered the “man of the match.”
“We were very resilient, and that gave us the strength to turn the game around. This was just the first match, and we need to keep our feet on the ground to achieve our goal,” he said after the match in an interview with Sport TV. In addition to his strong performance, Safira is close to reaching the significant milestone of 100 games in Portugal, where he has been playing since 2021.

Before joining Santa Clara, the number 9 played for Belenenses and Vitória de Guimarães. Fully adapted to the country, the Brazilian aims to maintain his good form and continue in Europe. “I am very happy here; each season brings new learning and evolution in various aspects. Santa Clara welcomed me very well, and I hope to give back with every match in the league,” he commented. Next Friday (16), Safira’s team will host Porto at 1 PM (Brasília time).
