Manchester City has explained Fluminense’s history and highlights on its website this Wednesday, just two days before the Club World Cup final where both teams will face each other at 6pm (UK time).
The Citizens said that the Tricolor starts the games in a 4-2-3-1 formation, but things change according to the game. The most known-player at the Brazilian club, Marcelo was the first to be inducted on the list, whereas André and Martinelli have ‘energy to get up and down the pitch’ and also ‘have drawn attention from Europe’.

They also highlighted Felipe Melo’s career and Fábio’s great game against Al Ahly. John Kennedy and Germán Cano are the biggest treats in the attack.
Up top, Germán Cano is a poacher of a striker who will look to react quickest to any loose ball in the box, while John Kennedy has proved a lethal option off the bench in both the Copa Libertadores final and Monday’s game.
Brazilian Guardiola?
Manchester City also spoke about Fernando Diniz and his comparison to Guardiola, with the nickname Brazilian Guardiola. The national team coach, however, does not feel the comparison is accurate.
“The way Pep likes having possession is the opposite of mine. His style is positional, mine is anti-positional,” he said.
