Thomas Tuchel started life as Chelsea head coach against Wolverhampton Wanderers in a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
Barley just 24 hours after replacing Frank Lampard, the German coach was present in the stands for the London side.
Tuchel made a questionable decision to leave out Mason Mount from his lineup as he chose to go for more experienced figures in the Blues dressing room.
It was a game where the Blues dominated but failed to create clear-cut chances.
Chelsea made almost 900 passes against Wolves but there was no cutting edge upfront.
However, in the second period Chelsea had way more chances to give Tuchel a dream start to his life as Blues boss.
Ben Chilwell wasted a great chance after sending his effort over the bar following a neat pass from Kai Havertz. Elsewhere, in-form Callum Hudson-Odoi had a deflected shot saved by Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
Wolves had one of the best chances of the game when Pedro Neto tried to tip his shot over Mendy, but ended up outing too much power that saw it go over the bar.
After losing five out of their previous eight games, the draw against a defensive Wolves side can be put down as decent performance to mark Thomas Tuchel’s first game in charge.
Although, it was not a result Thomas Tuchel would have wanted, but he described the match as a positive performance from his new side.
The result leaves Chelsea in 8th place, eleven points from leaders Manchester City and five points from fourth place West Ham.
