The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced, on Wednesday night, the expected dates for national and state competitions over the next year. Action with begin on the 28th of February spanning down to the 5th of December.
The main talking point was the continuation of all series of the Brazilian Championship and the Brazilian Cup
even in the middle of important competitions like the qualifiers of the 2022 World Cup and the Copa America, which will be held in Argentina and Colombia, from June.
State championships, for example, will begin on February 28, with contests on up to 16 dates, the same number this year. Teams currently competing in the Brazilian Serie A will not have time to prepare for their respective states, as the main national tournament ends on February 24, just four days before the first round of the 2021 state championships. It leaves a quite difficult headache for some Brazilian teams.
To conclude with, all series of the Brazilian Championship are scheduled to start on the last weekend of May. The Serie B begins on the 29th, and Series A, C and D one day later on the 30th. The elite Brasileirão without surprise ends the calendar on December 5th.
