The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) held a meeting with the players of the Brazilian National Team during the last FIFA Date, in Europe, to align new conduct guidelines.
The initiative aims to promote a more serious and professional image, reflecting a new direction of the entity. During the meeting, several guidelines were discussed that the athletes will have to follow from now on.

The new guidelines
- The list of guidelines addressed at the meeting includes: projecting an image of seriousness: players were instructed to adopt a more serious and professional behavior, both on and off the field;
- Avoid flashy earrings: the recommendation is that players avoid wearing earrings that can draw too much attention;
Do not wear extravagant necklaces: just like earrings, necklaces should be discreet and avoid extravagance; - Sober use of social media: players should use their social media in a sober and discreet manner, avoiding jokes that could be misinterpreted;
- Use of cell phones during meals: the use of cell phones at the dinner table is only allowed after the meal is finished.
More guidelines
Arrival at the stadium: the guidance is to avoid arriving at the stadium with headphones or listening to loud music.
Behavior in the locker room: in official videos, players should avoid appearing listening to music or joking around in the locker room.
Punctuality: players must respect the established schedules and avoid delaying the departure of the bus.
Nutritional plan: It is recommended that players do not eat anything outside the nutritional plan defined by the coaching staff in their rooms.
And the pink hair?
Right-back Yan Couto, in an interview with journalist Yara Fantoni’s channel, revealed that one of the new guidelines includes the end of colored hairstyles. Couto mentioned that, although he does not fully agree with the restriction, he will respect the guidance.
He also clarified that the CBF did not impose a ban, but made a request for players to avoid very flashy hair colors.
Leaked information?
The leak of the guidelines caused irritation among the CBF directors, who preferred these matters to be handled internally. However, the entity denied that it had specifically banned colored hair, stressing that it is a request to maintain a more serious image.
