After the Brazilian team’s 2-0 defeat to Uruguay, midfielder Casemiro admitted that Brazil needs to show progress in the matches. Brazil was beaten 2-0 by Uruguay on Tuesday night (17), at the Centenário Stadium, in Montevideo (URU).

“We need to keep growing, take this different coaching style and keep working. Do the best at your club. If we are here, it’s because we do the best at the club”, he explained.

“We have to be realistic and say that we need to improve. The time is to try to grow and implement the style of play. The sooner we adapt, we will consequently play better”, he stated.

Team captain in the match, he also regretted the injury to Neymar, who was substituted in the first half of the match after suffering an injury to his left knee. Richarlison replaced Brazil’s number 10.

“For Neymar to leave the field, we know it’s very serious. But I hope it’s nothing, because he’s an important player for us, even more so with the immense affection we have for him”, he wished.

The Brazilian team will meet again in November, for two more games valid for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers: on the 16th, the team will face Colombia, in Barranquilla (COL) and Argentina, on the 21st, at Maracanã. Brazil occupies third place in the tournament, with seven points.
