Carlos Vinicius was impressive at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Thursday night as Spurs romped to a 4-0 victory over their Bulgarian opponents Ludogorets. The goals saw the Brazilian forward open his account since his loan move from Benfica.
The game was in danger of being cancelled due to a number of Ludogorets players testing positive for covid-19.
Hence, it was no surprise the Bulgarian side failed to threaten at all with zero shots on target the whole game.
The first goal for Vinicius came in the 16th minute when Dele Alli’s pass towards Lucas Moura took a massive deflection to his path and allowed him race straight at goal to give Spurs the lead and also open his account for the club.
The second came in the 34th minute in even easier fashion. Tanguy Ndombele forced a save from the Ludogorets goalkeeper and Alli selflessly squared the ball to Vinicius who had an easy tap-in to grab his second of the night.
In the 63rd minute of the game, Harry Winks scored perhaps the best goal of the tournament so far this season with an audacious lob from 50 yards out that caught the Ludogorets goalkeeper napping.
Another Brazilian in Lucas Moura also got on the mark in the 73rd minute and this time it was fellow compatriot Vinicius who set him up wrap up a convincing 4-0 win on the evening.
The game will give Spurs confidence going into a potential top-of-the-table Premier League clash against Chelsea at the weekend.
