Carlos Vinicius was on target as Tottenham Hotspur beat Antwerp 2-0 in the Europa League on Thursday night in London.

The first half didn’t see much action and was pretty bland from both sides.

The only big moment came when Carlos Vinicius came close to scoring few minutes before the break.

Spurs opened the scoring in the second half when Vinicius tapped in from a rebound that came via a saved free-kick from Gareth Bale.

After the goal, Spurs came alive and looked much better in the game. Jose Mourinho then brought in in-form attacking duo Harry Kane and Son and it proved to be an inspired substitution.

Just few minutes on the pitch, Harry Kane recorded his 13th assist of the season in all competitions when he set up Giovani Lo Celso to make it 2-0 for Spurs.

The North London side needed only a win to finish the group in top spot and they did just that to end their group campaign on a high.

Despite the loss, Antwerp didn’t really have to be bothered about the consequences as they still qualified in second place for the next round.

Both sides would know their fates in the next round of the competition when the draw for the round of 32-knockout stages takes place on Monday.

For their next outing, Tottenham will take on Crystal Palace on Sunday as they look to consolidate their spot at the Premier League standings. They are only leading the pile on goal difference and failure to win could see them go down a few spots depending on other results.
