São Paulo won 2-0 in Guayaquil against Barcelona in a victory that allowed them to reach second place in Group B of the Copa Libertadores. The celebration was complete, as it was a dream debut for Luis Zubeldía as coach and allowed Jonathan Calleri to break several records.
The striker opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a header, one of his many offensive weapons. In this way, he reached his eleventh goal in the continent’s premier tournament with the jersey of the Tricolor from São Paulo, which puts him on the podium of the all-time top scorers in the club’s history.

The record for most goals is shared by Luís Fabiano, the striker who shone at Sevilla for six seasons, and Rogério Ceni, the goalscoring goalkeeper who defended the São Paulo goal for 22 years. Both have 14 goals.
On the podium, with 11 goals, is now Calleri, who only needed 14 matches to reach the mark. Further behind, with 10 goals, are the Uruguayan Pedro Rocha, Palhinha and Müller.
The Argentine also became the foreigner with the most goals for the São Paulo club in the Libertadores. In his first stint with the team, in 2016, he scored nine goals. In that edition, he was key for São Paulo to reach the semifinals, where they fell to Atlético Nacional (Colombia).
In 2024, which is the return of the Tricolor Paulista to the tournament they won on three occasions (1992, 1993 and 2005), the former Boca Juniors player made his goalscoring contribution against Cobresal and Barcelona.
