The Brazilian National Team went from ninth position to eleventh in the latest update of the women’s FIFA ranking. The drop in the list comes after the elimination in the group stage of the last World Cup and two losses (against Canada and Japan) in the friendlies after the tournament that was held in Australia and New Zealand.
The great novelty of the ranking is that the Spanish National Team, the last world champion, now looks down on the rest. It is the first time in history that it has achieved that milestone.

“La Roja” surpasses the United States and France (3rd), which came in second and third place, respectively. Sweden, which was number 1 in the last ranking update in August, now appears in fifth position.
Although Brazil dropped two places, it is still the best team in South America, ahead of Colombia (23rd), Argentina (31st) and Mexico (35th).
