Already guaranteed a place in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Gold Cup, Brazil will face Panama this Wednesday (28) in their final group stage challenge. The match, valid for the third round, will be played starting at 12:15 AM (Brasília time) at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego (CA).

The last encounter between the teams took place during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, in the first group stage match. On that occasion, the Warriors of Brazil defeated Panama 4-0, with Ary Borges scoring her first hat-trick and Bia Zaneratto. Bia’s goal was nominated for the Puskas Award.

Kansas City Current forward Bia Zaneratto commented on the upcoming match against Panama.

“Our goal was to be very aggressive in marking from the beginning, from their kick-off. I believe we were effective in that, so we know that if we can repeat that in the same way, we can secure a high-scoring result. We hope to maintain this aggressive posture, with collective play, where everyone is always well positioned and focused on finishing better. We had many chances against Puerto Rico, and we know that against Panama, we can also create many opportunities,” said the forward.

The Brazilian National Team secured their spot in the quarterfinals by defeating Colombia 1-0 in the early hours of Sunday (25). Duda Santos was responsible for scoring the only goal of the match, maintaining a flawless record against the South American team.

The Brazilian team is currently in first place in their group, with six points and a two-goal difference.
