Brazil was defeated this Sunday (3) by Japan. The team led by Arthur Elias lost 2-0 at Morumbi. The Japanese goals were scored by Mina Tanaka and Minami, in the first half.

It was the second clash between the two teams on this FIFA Date. On Thursday, Brazil beat the Japanese, 4-3, at Neo Quimica Arena.

This Sunday, coach Arthur Elias changed the team’s tactical scheme. The team started with three defenders. The Seleção created good opportunities at the beginning, but conceded both goals as the Japanese advanced.

In the 16th minute, defender Minami opened the scoring. Then, in the 18th minute, striker Mina Tanaka increased the score for her opponents. Brazil tried to reduce it, but failed in the first half.

After the break, Arthur Elias made three changes. He added forwards Bia Zanerato and Eudimila, as well as full-back Antônia. The team became more aggressive. They replaced, respectively, Priscila, Adriana and Lauren. Well in defense, the Japanese held on to the result. At 24 minutes, Marta entered Debinha’s place. Soon after, Tamires was placed on the team in place of Gabi Portilho. In the end, Arthur Elias left Angelina for Ary Borges.

After the two clashes with the Japanese, the Seleção has one more commitment. On Wednesday (6), Brazil faces Nicaragua, at Fonte Luminosa, in Araraquara, in the last friendly match of this year.
