Brazilian Women’s National Team is called up for the Paris Olympic Games

The list for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is defined. On Tuesday afternoon (2nd), at the CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, coach Arthur Elias announced the 18 athletes who will make up the Women’s National Team during the international competition.

The presentation is scheduled for this Thursday (4th), at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis (RJ), where they will be concentrated, in training, until July 17th, the date of the trip to Bordeaux, the base of the Amarelinha throughout the Olympics.

The coach also defined the alternates, who will be at Granja and in France during the tournament and can be called up in case of injury to any of the selected players: Luciana (goalkeeper of Ferroviária), Lauren (defender of Kansas City-USA), Angelina (midfielder of Orlando Pride-USA) and Priscila (forward of Internacional).

For the period, Arthur also called six athletes who will participate in the preparation in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro: Natascha (goalkeeper of Palmeiras), Mariza (defender of Corinthians), Vitória Calhau (defender of Cruzeiro), Laís Estevam (midfielder of Palmeiras), Letícia Monteiro (midfielder of Corinthians) and Amanda Gutierres (forward of Palmeiras). These are players who may join the Women’s National Team after the Olympic Games.

Brazil is in Group C and is accompanied by Nigeria, Japan and Spain. The debut, scheduled for July 25th, will be against the Nigerians, in Bordeaux. On the 28th, the opponents will be the Japanese, in Paris. For the last group stage match, the Seleção will face Spain, on the 31st, in Bordeaux.
