After an exciting clash last Saturday, where the Brazilian Under-17 team faced Iran in the category’s World Cup, the team had no time for regrets. This Sunday (12), young Brazilian football talents gathered at the Selamat Datang Training Center, in Jakarta, Indonesia, to intensify their training aimed at the next challenge in the competition.

In the clash against Iran, Brazil experienced a rollercoaster of emotions when they took the lead in the first half and suffered a 3-2 setback in the second half. During training, coach Phelipe Leal, aware of the challenges that the competition imposes, took players who had less playing time onto the field, considering that the match involved considerable physical and mental exhaustion.

The players who participated the longest in the match had video work and began the recovery process thinking about the New Caledonia game.

According to the coach, in the field activities, specific actions were worked on by players who could possibly be part of the team that starts the next game.

” Our work remains focused so far, working on actions like this that will be decisive for our performance. And the group is well aware of what happened at the premiere. It is aware that we need to make the necessary adjustments, and above all, have emotional balance to go one step at a time to achieve the small goals that will bring us closer to qualifying”, highlighted Phelipe Leal.

The focus of the training was also to improve and correct strategic points identified in the last confrontation. With engaged starters and reserves, the coaching staff seeks to ensure that the team is prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.

Midfielder Guilherme Batista, from São Paulo, introduced himself to the group this Sunday morning and has already participated in training with the team. He was called up to replace Luiz Gustavo, from Corinthians, who suffered a rectus femoris injury and was recalled from the national team.

The Brazilian Under-17 team, now occupying third place in Group C, has a crucial commitment next Tuesday, the 14th, at 6am (Brasília time). The Jakarta International Stadium will host the clash against New Caledonia, marking the second round of the U17 World Cup.

The competition foresees that the leaders and vice-leaders of each group, together with the four best third-placed teams, will advance to the next phase.
