Soccer and music may be more closely linked than one thinks. Fans are inspired by songs by popular artists or bands to cheer on their players, while musicians also often take time to support the club they love.
Elton John, for example, has become the most famous supporter of Watford. The iconic singer-songwriter, who was named honorary president of the institution, was seen on several occasions at Vicarage Road, and even the footballers themselves have come to know him. João Pedro, in fact, remembers that moment well.

João Pedro remembers the day he met Elton John
“I met him when we were promoted to the Premier League in 2021. He came to the dressing room after the game and handed out some of the season’s prizes. But with all due respect, I prefer Brazilian music!” recalled the Brazilian in dialogue with the British media Four Four Two.
João Pedro joined Watford in the 2020 winter market at just 18 years old, from Fluminense. From there, he has become a key part of the team and even wore the captain’s armband. This season he has 11 goals in 38 games in the Championship, the second category of English football. However, if he does not win promotion this season, the Brazilian could leave for a Premier League club in the next transfer window.
