Alexsander and Andrey expressed their feelings on Sunday (11) about Brazil’s defeat against Argentina, which left Brazil out of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The team led by Ramon Menezes was defeated 1-0 in the final round of the Pre-Olympic Tournament.
A player from Fluminense, Alexsander analyzed that the team entered the field with a “good attitude,” but lack of attention may have been one of the factors that affected the performance in the game.
“We entered with a good competitive attitude. Big games are decided by details; you have to pay attention to all the details from the beginning to the end of the game. Unfortunately, we made a mistake on one play in the second half and ended up conceding a goal,” said Alexsander.

“The feeling that remains is one of sadness because we know we had a very strong team,” he added.
As the captain of the Brazilian National Team, Andrey emphasized the team’s effort throughout the entire preparation, which began at Granja Comary in early January.
“A very bad feeling because we worked throughout the preparation to secure a spot in the Olympics. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen. It’s hard to talk about,” said Andrey, who also mentioned that the goal of the team was always to control the game.
“I think we had a lot of difficulty in keeping possession. It didn’t go as we expected; in every game, we wanted to dictate play. But we also understand that there was a qualified team on the other side. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out the way we wanted.”
