One day after the 4-2 victory over Spain, the Brazilian Women’s National Team left Marseille at 12 PM on Wednesday (7th) aboard a TGV (high-speed train) and arrived in Paris at 3:20 PM. From the central station of the French capital, the group took a bus to the hotel, a journey of less than 20 minutes.

In Paris, the team will compete for the title against the United States on Saturday (10th) at 5 PM (12 PM in Brasília) at the Parc des Princes. Since 2008, Brazilian women’s football has not reached an Olympic final—this achievement occurred in 2004 and 2008, both times finishing in second place.

On Tuesday night, after the match against Spain, the assistants of coach Arthur Elias began a new phase of their work in France—gathering videos and additional information about the next opponent.

The coaching staff was aware of the possibility of facing the United States in the tournament. Therefore, the coach and his staff had already accumulated a series of observations about the American team.

For Saturday, Arthur Elias will have forward Marta available. She was part of the team’s campaigns in 2004 and 2008 and missed the last two games due to a suspension imposed by FIFA for the red card she received in Brazil’s last group stage match against Spain last week.

Marta is competing in her sixth Olympics and is one of the most enthusiastic members of the group. A six-time world player of the year, she is recognized wherever she goes in France—at train stations, airports, and hotel entrances. Always friendly, she gives autographs and poses for photos. Upon arriving at the hotel in Paris, she received a warm welcome from the staff.
