This Sunday (3), Miraildes Maciel Mota, known as Formiga, turns 46. The former player is one of the greatest legends to have worn the yellow jersey and has historical numbers for the Brazilian National Team.
Formiga represented Brazil for 26 years. Wearing the yellow jersey, she took the field 234 times. Over these years, the midfielder accumulated 152 wins, 35 draws, 47 losses, and scored 37 goals. However, her legacy cannot be solely translated into numbers; it is a story that will forever inspire future generations of soccer.

A lot of dedication, much sweat shed, many titles won, and countless stories wearing the National Team’s jersey are just a few achievements that remind us of Formiga. Besides being one of the great references in women’s soccer not only in Brazil but also worldwide.
Among her achievements are two silver medals (Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008), three Pan American titles (2003, 2007, and 2015), two South American Championships (2010 and 2014), as well as a World Cup runner-up (2007) and three Copa Libertadores titles (2011, 2013, and 2014).
