The Brazilian Pre-Olympic Team faces Colombia this Friday (26), looking for another good result in the qualifying tournament for the Paris Olympics. The game, valid for Group A, will be played at 8 pm (Brasília time) at the Brígido Iriarte Stadium, in Caracas. In their debut, on Tuesday (23), the team led by Ramon Menezes defeated Bolivia 1-0.
The coach said that although the opponent is coming off a 3-0 defeat against Ecuador, there is no reason to disregard the Colombians’ ability. “In that game, they had a player sent off with just over 20 minutes. With one less, everything changed. Colombia is very strong.”

For the National Team’s technical committee, which has worked in a very integrated manner in Caracas, there is a clear technical balance in the competition. This requires extra dedication from each player on the team. This spirit of competitiveness has been highlighted by Ramon Menezes in meetings with athletes.
Against Bolivia, there was this show of fight until the last minute and Ramon wants the application and dedication to be equal in this confrontation with Colombia.
Group A of the Pre-Olympic has Ecuador in the lead, with four points (in two games). Brazil is in second, with three points, followed by Venezuela (two), Bolivia (one) and Colombia (zero points). Two teams qualify for the final quadrangular, a phase that will feature the two best teams from Group B – so far, Argentina and Paraguay.
In the quadrangular, the first two guarantee a place for the Paris Games, in July and August this year. Brazil is the current two-time men’s Olympic football champion.
