The coaching staff of the Brazilian National Team attended the first leg matches of the Copa do Brasil Round of 16. Head coach Dorival Junior, assistant coach Pedro Sotero, technical coordinator Juan, and general technical manager Cícero Souza watched Flamengo’s 2-0 victory over Palmeiras at Maracanã on Wednesday (31). Other staff members also analyzed the 0-0 draw between Corinthians and Grêmio at Neo Química Arena.
On Tuesday (30), Dorival, general executive coordinator Rodrigo Caetano, and assistant coach Lucas Silvestre were present at the 1-1 draw between Botafogo and Bahia at Nilton Santos.

In addition to the knockout tournament, they will also attend matches in the Série A of the Brazilian Championship. The on-site observation is part of the strategy to finalize the list of call-ups for the World Cup Qualifiers in September, when Brazil will face Ecuador on the 5th (location yet to be decided) and Paraguay in Asunción on the 10th.
Watching matches in the stadiums and strengthening relationships with clubs has been part of the National Team’s work since their arrival in January. Before announcing the rosters for friendlies against England and Spain and for the Copa América, members of the coaching staff attended Série A matches and competitions in the Conmebol Libertadores and Conmebol Sudamericana.
