The scenario for the 2023 Copa do Brasil (Brazilian Cup) final has been defined. This Monday (28), a draw at the CBF headquarters defined that Flamengo opens the confrontation at home, while São Paulo will play the second match at it’s on turf.
The two teams will face each other on the 17th and 24th of September, in Maracanã and Morumbi, respectively.
The champion of the Copa do Brasil will receive a record prize of R$ 70 million and the runner-up, R$ 30 million.

The draw was attended by coaches and players from the two finalist teams. São Paulo was represented by coach Dorival Jr and by Rafinha and Calleri, while Flamengo had the presence of coach Jorge Sampaoli and Felipe Luís and Everton Ribeiro.
“These are two giant teams, we will have two great games. We know the professionals on their side very well, very well managed by Sampaoli. I am sure that we will have brilliant spetacles and doing justice to the final of such a difficult competition. We hope that we will put on two great shows, and the public, not only the present ones, will watch two great games”, said Dorival, who has already won the title twice.
“I think that demanding command now is circumstantial. We know that we have to try to win both games to be champion. The difficulty will not be the command, but São Paulo”, said Sampaoli.
