The Brazilian Women’s National Team has started its preparation in Australia for the World Cup. Upon their arrival in Gold Coast, the players began their activities on Australian soil gradually. The technical commission has drawn up a meticulous program in order to limit the effects of jet lag and to facilitate their adaptation to a 13-hour time difference.
Thus, during this first day, the players carried out light exercises. In the morning, they walked and stretched outdoors. The goalkeepers, meanwhile, participated in a light training session with the ball. In the afternoon, the group went to the weight room for a muscle strengthening session.

Fitness trainer emphasized the importance of activities in the sun in this program
“Sun exposure plays a crucial role in adapting to jet lag. Daylight helps to delay our body’s circadian rhythm. For example, our walk at 11 a.m., which would be equivalent to 10 p.m. in Brazil, delays the production of melatonin. Thus, this naturally delays the sleep expected at this time in Brazil,” explained Ivi Casangrande, physical trainer for the Brazilian squad.
The first official training with the ball is scheduled for Thursday morning (6). The players will travel to the pitch of the Hotel Resort Royal Pines, in Gold Coast (Australia), for this session.
