Brazil clinched the hexa Beach Soccer World Cup title on Sunday (25) by defeating Italy 6-4 in the final of the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The goals in this historic victory were scored by Rodrigo (three times), Bruno Xavier, Genovali (own goal), and Brendo.
Adding to their titles in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2017, the victory in Dubai solidified Brazilian football’s dominance in the sport. Russia is the closest team with three titles.

Brazil secured the title with an excellent campaign. Undefeated, the team emerged victorious against all opponents. Before defeating Iran on Saturday (24) in the semifinals, the team led by Marco Octavio triumphed over Oman, Portugal, Mexico, and Japan in this edition of the World Cup.
“It’s a wonderful feeling! It’s great to remember that wonderful feeling of winning a World Cup; it’s my second,” stated Rodrigo, who was named the world’s best in the category earlier this month.

Rematch of the 2008 final
The decision in Dubai was a rematch of the 2008 World Cup. Back then, Brazil defeated the Italians 5-3 and claimed the title. In 2009, they met again in the quarterfinals in an exciting match with many goals. The Canarinho came out on top once more by winning 6-4. In 2017, they faced off for a spot in the final. At that time, Brazil advanced by defeating the Italian team 8-4, with a “hat trick” from Mauricinho and goals from Rodrigo and Catarino, who are currently starters.
