The Brazilian National Team is ready for its next challenge in the Gold Cup. This Wednesday (6), the Warriors of Brazil will face Mexico at 9 pm (Brasília time) at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego (CA) in the semifinals of the competition.

Duels between Brazil and Mexico are not new. The teams have already faced each other on 14 occasions, with the National Team securing 13 victories and suffering only one defeat against the opposing team. In 2019, the teams played two preparatory friendlies. In the first match, the Warriors of Brazil defeated the Mexicans 6-0 at Neo Química Arena, and then won again, 4-0, in Araraquara (SP).

After an impeccable group stage, the Brazilian National Team secured a spot in the semifinals against Argentina at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, where they won 5-1. Bia Zaneratto (twice), Yaya, Yasmim, and Gabi Nunes were responsible for the goals of the match. On the other side of the bracket, the American team advanced after a 3-2 victory against Paraguay.

Coach Arthur Elias has made several changes to the team in order to get to know the group better. He is very satisfied with the players’ performance so far. Of course, he wants to reach the Gold Cup final, but he always emphasizes that the National Team is going through a stage, aiming for the Paris Olympics in July and August of this year.
