The Brazilian National Team takes the field on Saturday night (6) to try to qualify for the semifinals of the Copa América. The team led by Dorival Júnior faces Uruguay, in Las Vegas, starting at 10pm (Brasilia time). Grupo Globo will broadcast the decisive game on various platforms. If the match ends in a draw in regular time, the classification will be decided on penalties.

Striker Endrick will be the main novelty. He was confirmed on Friday (5) by Dorival Júnior to replace Vinicius Junior. The player will serve an automatic suspension for receiving his second yellow card in the competition in the draw against Colombia, on Tuesday (4), in Santa Clara, California.

“We lost an important player, but we gained a player who is emerging, seeking an opportunity. Maybe this is the moment for Endrick,” said Dorival Júnior when announcing Endrick’s starting lineup, who will make his first match as a starter for the National Team.

The 17-year-old striker has nine games and three goals with the Amarelinha. The other novelty will be the entry of side Arana in place of Wendell.

Before the start of the knockout stage, Brazil finished second in the group stage. The team scored five points, with one win and two draws.

Brazil is trying to win the 10th Copa América title. The National Team won in five of the last ten editions of the Copa América (1997, 1999, 2004, 2007 and 2019).

Coach Dorival Júnior expects a great game in Las Vegas and ruled out being anxious for the decisive clash this Saturday.

“I will act with the same calmness as always. I know what makes up the balance and the achievement of results of a team. This work can still surprise many people until the end of the Copa América,” said the coach.

“I don’t want the Uruguay game to be seen as a defining one. If our passage happens, we won’t be satisfied, with a thousand wonders, we’ll be very concerned about the next confrontations and the adjustments the team needs. We can accelerate the stages. The work is evolving, even if people don’t want to see it,” he added.

This Saturday’s classic will be the 80th game between the national teams. Brazil has a wide advantage, with 38 wins, 20 draws and 21 losses, as well as 142 goals scored and 100 conceded.

If, in general, the green and yellow team adds more triumphs, on the other hand, the balance prevails in the Copa América. There were 26 matches for the South American competition, with nine wins for Brazil, nine for Uruguay and eight draws.

Striker Raphinha expects a balanced clash this Saturday. “Anything can happen in a game like this, which could be the final of the Copa América. It will be one of the most difficult games in general,” said Raphinha.

The National Team faces Uruguay at the Allegiant Stadium, one of the most modern arenas in the world. There, Brazil beat Paraguay 4-1 in the second round of the Copa América.

The stadium is the home of the American football team Raiders and was opened in 2020 as part of the strategy to transform the city into the world capital of sports.

With a value of almost $2 billion (over R$10 billion), the stadium is fully air-conditioned.

Built in the desert, the stadium is fully covered and has an air conditioning system, which keeps the environment pleasant for fans and athletes. Outside, the temperature in Las Vegas has exceeded 40°C in recent days.
