Brazil is undefeated in the competition, with five wins. The team defeated Puerto Rico, Colombia, Panama in the group stage and beat Argentina 5-1 in the quarterfinals. The opponent in the semifinals was Mexico, whom they defeated 3-0. The goals were scored by Adriana, Antonia, and Yasmim.

Meanwhile, the United States finished the group stage in second place. The Americans started the competition with a significant 5-0 victory over the Dominican Republic. They then secured another big win with a 4-0 victory over Argentina but were defeated 2-0 in the match against Mexico. In the quarterfinals, they won 3-0 against Colombia and secured victory in penalties against Canada.
The last time the teams faced each other was in 2023, during the SheBelieves Cup. In that match, the Americans came out on top with a 2-1 victory. The Brazilian goal was scored by Ludmila.
