The 2024 Copa América is generating excitement for millions of fans across the continent, although in the first week of competition many of the stadiums showed stands that were not at full capacity and, in some cases, semi-empty. Huge stadiums, the low soccer culture in the United States and the price of tickets are some of the explanations for this situation.
According to the Front Office Sport portal, specialized in sports and business, 43,030 people attended the duel between Peru and Chile in a scenario with a capacity for 80,000, and 29,684 people attended the Ecuador vs Venezuela match in a stadium that can accommodate 68,500. Even the host United States was far from a 100% full: 47,873 fans at the AT&T Stadium, prepared for 80,000.
