The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) must soon confirm the location of the confrontation between Brazil and Argentina scheduled for November 21, 2023, within the framework of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Two emblematic cities compete to host this important event: Manaus, with its Amazonia Arena, and Brasilia, with the Mané Garrincha stadium.

Manaus, an attractive logistics option
This option generates consensus in the CBF, mainly for logistical reasons. Before facing Argentina, the Seleção must travel to Barranquilla to face Colombia. Opting for Manaus, using a charter flight, would allow for a quick return home. Furthermore, high temperatures (a factor for which Brasilia is also a candidate) are an attractive element for the federation: while its players can easily adapt to those conditions, it can be a problem for visitors.
Argentina would also have to travel a long distance to reach the capital of the state of Amazonas. Before the clash with Brazil, the current world champions will host Uruguay in Buenos Aires.
The other three Qualifying matches that Amarelinha still has ahead of it this year have already taken place:
- October 12: Brazil vs. Venezuela (Cuiabá)
- October 17: Uruguay vs. Brazil (Montevideo)
- November 16: Colombia vs. Brazil (Barranquilla)
- November 21: Brazil vs. Argentina (location to be determined)
The final decision on the venue of the game between Brazil and Argentina should be made in the coming days.
