After the 1-0 defeat to Paraguay this Monday (5), the Brazilian team players regretted the negative result in their debut in the final quadrangular of the Pre-Olympic Tournament.

Midfielder Andrey commented on the team’s feeling when he left the field. He made a point of turning the key and thinking about the match against Venezuela, on Thursday (8).

“A bad feeling, obviously. Of course we wanted to win, but now we have to turn the page, correct our mistakes, study the Venezuela team, because it’s going to be a very difficult game, we need the victory”, said the player, who praised Paraguay’s competitiveness.

“When it comes to the game at national team level, it’s very difficult, all the teams are very good, qualified. I think the aspect of Paraguay was that they competed a lot and we needed a little more patience to keep the ball”, he added.

In the first half, Ramon Menezes’ team had three chances to score: two with Endrick and one with John Kennedy. The main one was Endrick, who had the great opportunity to score from the penalty spot, but the Paraguayan goalkeeper made the save. Captain, Andrey demonstrated his support for his teammate and did not hold him responsible for the defeat.

“Endrick trains like that, hit like that, it was the goalkeeper’s credit too. Now it’s time to raise our heads, we’re all together, unfortunately it wasn’t the result we wanted, but it’s time to move on to the next step”, he reinforced.

Defender Arthur Chaves returned from suspension for the match against the Paraguayans and chose lack of attention as the main reason for the goal conceded by the team.

“A general lack of attention, which cannot happen. I think that’s what we have to be more attentive to at a defensive level,” said the defender.

In the next round, Amarelinha has the chance to recover against Venezuela, next Thursday (8), at 8 pm (Brasília time), at the Brígido Iriarte Stadium, in Caracas, Venezuela, for the second round of the final phase of the Pre-Olympic Tournament.
