Before facing Mexico in a preparation match for the Copa América this Saturday (8), the Brazilian National Team holds a 12-year unbeaten run against the opponents. The last defeat for the Brazilian team happened on June 3, 2012, by 2-0, in a friendly match held at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas (USA).

Since the Brazilian defeat, the teams have faced each other in four matches, with three Brazilian wins and one draw. The most recent confrontation took place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, in the round of 16. Neymar and Roberto Firmino scored the goals in the 2-0 victory that ensured the classification of the Seleção for the next phase of the World Cup.
