In search of the gold medal, the Brazilian National Team faces Chile this Saturday night (4), at 8 pm, at the Sausalito Stadium, in Viña del Mar, in the final of the Pan-American Games. With a 100% success campaign, Brazil has the chance to win the title for the fifth time. On YouTube, CazéTV and Canal Olímpico do Brasil will broadcast the match.

If they become champions, Ramon Menezes’ team will place the Brazilian team in the highest place on the podium after a 36-year absence. The last time the Brazilian team won the gold medal was in the Indianapolis edition, in the United States, in 1987, with a lineup full of big names: Taffarel (Internacional), Ricardo Rocha (Guarani), Washington (Fluminense) and Evair (Guarani).

In the semi-final, the Brazilian team had its biggest challenge and secured its place in the final with a tight score of 1-0. In the first minutes of the game, Leone (against) put the team at an advantage, in a confrontation marked by the protagonism of the defense Brazilian team, especially goalkeeper Mycael, who prevented the Mexican equalizer at 44 minutes into the second half.

The team’s seven goals were scored by seven different athletes, demonstrating the Brazilian team’s collective commitment to the competition.

Homeowners, Chile have an identical record to Brazil. The Chileans have four wins in their four games so far, with eight goals scored and none conceded.
