The Argentine U-17 team beat Venezuela 5-0 in the World Cup being held in Indonesia and on Friday they will play the quarterfinals against Brazil, defending champions. The Seleção advances towards its fifth star after beating Ecuador 3-1 in the round of 16, while the Albiceleste is going for its first World title in the category.

The team led by Diego Placente made the difference over Vinotinto already in the first half with goals from Luis Balbo, against Santiago López and Claudio Echeverri. In the second half, the team’s and the tournament’s top scorer, Agustín Ruberto, appeared for a double that sealed the result.

The South American classic, now in a World Cup version, will be played on Friday the 24th from 9 a.m. (Brasília time) in the capital Jakarta. The winner will face in the semifinals the winner of the duel between Germany and Spain, who defeated the United States and Japan, respectively.
