The Brasileirão has new leaders after the completion of the 5th round. Bahia and Athletico Parananese climbed to the top, taking advantage of the stumbles of Botafogo, Atlético Mineiro, and Red Bull Bragantino.
The team led by Rogério Ceni took the three points by winning 2-1 away against Botafogo. The match was heading for a draw after the goals scored by Everaldo for the club bought by the City Group, and by Jeffinho for Fogão, but four minutes from the end, Rafael Ratão put the definitive figures with a great finish.

Athletico Paranaense also looks down on everyone from above after winning 1-0 against Vasco da Gama with a goal by Erick. The Cariocas, already without a coach after the dismissal of Ramón Díaz, have four consecutive defeats.
One team that smiled again after two consecutive draws is Palmeiras. The current two-time champion won at home against bottom-placed Cuiabá with goals from Lázaro and Estevão, the 17-year-old who everyone is talking about and who is shaping up to be the next star sale to a major club in Europe.
São Paulo is also on the comeback. They ratified their good moment after the arrival of coach Luis Zubeldía with the away win against Vitória 3-1, with two goals from Luciano and another from Nahuel Ferraresi. The Bahians played with one less player for almost the entire match due to the red card to defender Wagner Leonardo in the 7th minute.
Atlético Mineiro, Fluminense, Red Bull Bragantino, and Flamengo canceled each other out by drawing their matches. The latest Libertadores Cup champion and the team coached by Gabriel Milito finished 2-2 at the Maracanã.
Meanwhile, Bragantino and Flamengo finished 1-1. The team led by Tite, one of the main favorites for the title, has gone three games without a win in the local league, added to the defeat against Bolívar at the altitude of La Paz in the Libertadores Cup.
Three matches postponed due to the floods
The round had three postponed matches (Gremio-Criciúma, Cruzeiro-Internacional, and Juventude-Atlético Goianiense) due to the floods in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil, which left 78 dead and 115,000 evacuated according to preliminary figures.
