Botafogo announced on the night of this Friday (30) the signing of right-back Vitinho, 25 years old. The player was previously with Burnley in England.
Vitinho signs a permanent contract with the Rio de Janeiro club until December 2029. The right-back will arrive in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday to undergo medical examinations and sign the contract with Botafogo.

According to GE.com, the negotiation was finalized for 8 million euros (approximately R$ 49.3 million at the current exchange rate) fixed, plus 2 million euros (around R$ 12.3 million) in bonuses.
Burnley did not intend to negotiate the right-back. However, Vitinho expressed interest in playing in Brazilian football, aiming for a possible call-up to the national team in the future.
Vitinho played 41 matches for Burnley in the 2022/23 season, helping the team secure promotion to the Premier League. In the last season, he recorded 36 appearances for the English team.
The athlete was developed in football by Cruzeiro. He later transferred to Cercle Brugge in Belgium. Vitinho began wearing the Burnley jersey in 2022.
