The coach of the Brazilian National Team, Dorival Júnior, projected this Thursday (27) the clash against Paraguay, the opponent on Friday (28) in Las Vegas. The coach believes in the work carried out by the team since late May to achieve a positive result at the Allegiant Stadium. On Monday (24), Brazil drew 0-0 with Costa Rica in their Copa América debut.

“Now it’s just about having calmness, balance and confidence in what is being done. If with each game we generate doubts about everything that is being done, you end up not moving forward. I think I’ve been in this world for a while, with enough experience, to be able to understand everything that is done and what we are doing. For the good of the Brazilian national team,” said the coach, adding that the team put in a good performance on Monday in Los Angeles.

“We cannot fail to evaluate what was done, the dedication, the way we conducted ourselves, how we behaved, the way we put our opponent on their defensive field. Football goes through some important stages where you don’t burn them, because for sure up ahead, suddenly you might have to pay a high price,” he added.

On Thursday, Brazil holds the last training session in Las Vegas before the match against Paraguay. The game will be at 10pm (Brasilia time) and will be broadcast by Grupo Globo on various platforms.

“I understand that the result (on Monday) was not adequate and I take responsibility, but you can be sure that we are aware of everything that is happening and how we will build our qualification,” he said.

“What I would like to say is that we have to try to understand everything that has been happening with the National Team in recent times. It is a moment of change, of transition, a team is not built overnight, even though we have players here who have already had experience within the National Team. We have great players in this group, who have to have time to find maturity and, above all, balance within the already brilliant careers for many of them. It is a natural process that is taking place,” he added.
