Vitor Roque has emerged as one of the most promising prospects in Brazilian football, and it didn’t take long for European clubs to set their sights on him. However, it looks like Barcelona have already won the race for the Athletico Paranaense sensation.

According to AS, the Spanish giants have already reached an agreement to sign the 18-year-old this summer. But before they can officially anounce him, the Catalan outfit would have to make room to comply with LaLiga’s salary cap rules.

The terms of Roque’s reported move to Barcelona

The Spanish outlet claims Roque will sign a five-year deal, with Athletico Paranaense receiving nearly €40 million in three different payments. Barcelona have to move on from three players to have enough cap space to register the young striker, but it’s reportedly a matter of time before they can make it official.

Roque was understood to be on Barca’s radar for a while, and the former player and current club director Deco would deserve a lot of credit for pulling this one off. His knowledge of the Brazilian football market, in addition to his great relationship with Roque’s agent André Cury are believed to be big reasons behind this deal. Now it’s time to wait for Barca to take care of everything else, but it looks like the Brazilian prospect is ready to take off.
