While many express their solidarity with Vinicius Junior as a result of his fight against discrimination, a Barcelona leader charged against the Real Madrid star. Mikel Camps, deputy spokesperson for the Culé board of directors, criticized the Brazilian for an action during Merengue‘s victory against Braga in the Champions League.
“It’s not racism, he deserves a slap for being a clown and a lazy person, what do these unnecessary and meaningless bicycles represent in the center of the field,” Camps wrote on his X (Twitter) account. Minutes later, he deleted the message, which soon generated repudiation from other users. The manager was referring to a moment in the game in which Vini made different feints and bicycles, but without moving from his place on the sideline.

Vinicius’ confrontations in Spain
It is not the first time that Vinicius has received questions about his way of playing or celebrating. On other occasions, the 23-year-old was criticized for doing dance steps after converting, as well as for using filigrees in certain situations. Of course, they always came from rivals, while in Madrid they have defended their figure in front of everyone.
But the former Flamengo player has an even more important fight in front of other fans, after having been a victim of racism repeatedly. In May, Vini decided to take the issue to court after a match in Valencia, and since then there has been more talk about the issue. However, there is still much to do to resolve an issue as reprehensible as discrimination.
