Brazilian tradition

In addition to Baltazar and Cleiton Itaitinga, Sion has traditionally been a club that welcomes Brazilian players throughout its history.

Forward Matheus Cunha, currently at Wolverhampton in England, previously played for the Swiss team between 2017 and 2018.

In the past, forward Kleber Pereira, who stood out for various Brazilian clubs such as Santos and Athletico-PR, played for Sion between 1996 and 1998.

Ronaldinho Gaúcho’s older brother, Assis, was another Brazilian who played for the Swiss team between 1992 and 1995.

Meanwhile, the top scorer Túlio Maravilha, who made his mark at Vila Nova, Goiás, Botafogo, and other teams, played for Sion between 1992 and 1993.
