Karim Benzema, who played alongside the Brazilian and won the France Football prize in 2022, giving this year’s Ballon d’Or to Vini would be fair because of everything he did in the 2023-24 season.

“Ballon d’Or? I’m going to say Vini because he deserves it for his season and not just for what he’s done this year, but also for what he did last year. He was outstanding with his football and what he does with the ball. He is a young, complete footballer,” said Benzema in an interview with Marca.
“He can win a match on his own, of course with the help of his teammates, but he is very good when Real Madrid needs him, and that’s why I think he deserves it. He is always there and shows up. For all that, my favorite is Vini,” the Frenchman added.
Besides Vinicius, other names in the conversation are Jude Bellingham and Rodri. The decision will be announced on Monday, October 28.
