Hulk has recently achieved an impressive milestone. The Brazilian forward reached 100 goals with the Atlético Mineiro uniform, further cementing his legacy at the club. His recent feat didn’t go unnoticed for Galo fans, who decided to pay tribute to the striker in a particular way.

The group of fans “Galosofia” had the creative idea of “renaming” a street in honor of Hulk, placing stickers with the goal-scoring machine’s name on signs of Paraíba street, in the Centro-Sul region of Belo Horizonte. Therefore, the signage now reads “Rua Hulk Paraíba” (Hulk Paraíba Street).

Hulk, a Galo legend

The player was born and raised in the area, always showing a lot of appreciation for the place even as he grew up and became a football star. That’s why fans felt it was only fair to give Hulk the recognition he deserves in the place he loves the most.

“We are a group of friends, some of us have known each other for over 20 years. We are always together at the stadium. We realized that Hulk was about to score his 100th goal. We couldn’t let it pass. He is a top idol of Galo. He deserved this tribute. Everything was prepared. The idea arose from the association Hulk himself makes with the state where he was born. He always emphasizes talking about here,” said one of the group organizers, via Globo Esporte.

Since his arrival at Galo in 2020, Hulk has posted impressive numbers. With 100 goals and 34 assists in 180 matches, the 37-year-old big man has made the top 20 of all-time goal-scorers at the club, with whom he has already won the Golden Boot both in the Brasileirao and Copa do Brasil.
