Gustavo Henrique scored an own goal to put his rivals in the lead early on before Keno doubled the teams’ advantage before the break. In the second half, Eduardo Sasha and Zaracho found the net rounding the game off with a resounding win.
The game started with full swing, fast tempo and high intensity.
Two minutes into the game, Everton Ribeiro hit the crossbar from a shot from outside the area. Few minutes later, in a fast drive forward, Sasha received the ball from Savarino and tried to take a shot but his effort was deflected off Gustavo Henrique to go into his own net. In the eighth minute, the home side received a free kick on the left side close to the goal area. Keno took the kick and placed the ball over the wall past Hugo making it 2-0.
The Rooster continued to push harder for more goals, but couldn’t get the ball into the net. Thiago Maia came close in the 22nd minute but his effort was wide of the goal. Franco replied almost immediately for but also failed. His effort was stopped by the goalkeeper.
In the second half, Pedro forced a good save from Éverson two minutes into the second period, which on the rebound; Bruno Henrique could only find the side netting. In the 59th minute, the rooster scored the third goal of the game, with Sasha adding his name to the score sheet after taking advantage of Arana’s cross. In less than 10 minutes to the end of the game, the home side added another through a fast counter attacking play. Zaracho scored the fourth goal taking the goal tally to 4-0.
It was a disappointing and unexpected result for Flamengo.
