Just as Vitor Roque will make the trip from Paraná to Barcelona, a plane in the opposite direction could leave Barcelona heading to the Furacão stadium. In the last few hours, the Catalan media Sport has published interesting information about who could be the next coach of Athletico Paranaense.
Currently, Furacão wants to hire a new coach for January and everything seems to indicate that the great favorite to assume the position would be the Catalan coach Domènec Torrent, a 61-year-old coach with a past at FC Barcelona, Bayern and Manchester City being the Pep Guardiola’s right hand man and, more recently at Flamengo and Galatasaray, this being his last club.

Athletico Paranaense has already contacted Domènec Torrent
Journalist Joaquim Piera tells Sport that Athletico is looking for a replacement for Wesley Carvalho and that the great favorite of the board and even the locker room would be the Catalan Domènec Torrent. The club’s captain, Fernandinho, who knows him well from his time at City, would be one of those who would have given the go-ahead to his possible arrival.
Domènec Torrent is currently a free agent after completing his contract with Galatasaray in 2022 and would already have experience in the Brasileirão due to his short spell at Flamengo in 2022, a time in which he had to replace Jorge Jesus.
With Mengão, Torrent led for only 26 games, winning 15 of them, drawing five and losing six. In these games, his team scored 46 goals and conceded 38.
