Fortaleza started the first half with aggression right from the very onset.
Three minutes into the game, Bergson almost scored but failed to find the target. In the 18th minute, the red-black defence was sloppy in allowing David to get the ball to Bergson at the edge of the area and buried the goal in the net. The hurricane reacted immediately and went at the opponent area with aerial balls but did not cause any threat.
In the 32nd minute, Bergson missed a great chance to extend his side lead before the break when Santos made a terrible mistake in defence.
In the second half, the home side came back better with more hunger and drive. Bergson scored his second of the night but was signaled offside by the referee. Hurricane then rose up to the threat to get an equalizer. In the 62nd minute, they finally had their wish as Carlos Eduardo hit the target at close range leveling things up.
Hurricane continued to dominate and push forward for the winner. Two minutes into the extra time, they got their winner through Kayzer who stole the ball in the area, hit the corner and secured the red-black victory. The result leaves Athletico in the second place.
