According to Spanish sports outlet AS, Real Madrid has set its sights on the young Brazilian prodigy, Endrick, in the hope of seeing him recover the legendary number 9, left vacant by Karim Benzema.
Although his season with Palmeiras was marked by uneven performances, the Madrid club does not seem worried. Indeed, despite statistics of 8 goals and 1 assist in 42 matches in all competitions, the Spanish giant seems to maintain unshakeable confidence in the potential of the young 17-year-old Brazilian talent.

AS explains Endrick’s bad patch
The AS article also discusses the reasons behind Endrick’s recent dip in form, explaining that Real Madrid blame this situation on a lack of first-team opportunities.
Indeed, Endrick has only started 19 times in 2023, with his coach Abel Ferreira showing a preference for the 28-year-old Rony. The move may seem surprising, especially since Madrid will have to pay Palmeiras an extra €2.5 million for every five goals Endrick scores before crossing the Atlantic.
The number 9 shirt is waiting for Endrick next year. He will be sent directly to the first team.

Currently credited with 8 goals on the clock, the native of Taguatinga is therefore only two goals away from the 10 goals needed, which would mean a payment of 5 million euros to the Merengues.
